Hero Glamour X 125 Launched: Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, has launched its all-new Hero Glamour X 125. The Glamour aims to excite young consumers seeking a motorcycle with a head-turning design, modern features, and reliable performance. The Glamour is priced at Rs 89,999 for the drum variant and Rs 99,999 for the disc variant (ex-showroom), making it a sound option for young consumers who want to commute daily on their motorcycle. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this motorcycle attractive.
The New Sporty Look
The Hero Glamour X 125 has a new muscle look with sharp and stylish design cues. The lines of the fuel tank are bold, and the “Glamour” badge is metallic and has a red “X” logo, giving it a premium look. The front end of the bike is aggressive, and there is a small windshield, which adds to the sporty look. The bike features H-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) that are noticeable and eye-catching on the road. The disc variant comes with full LED lighting, including headlamp and taillight. The drum variant uses halogen for the tail and indicators.
The bike is available in five bright colors. The drum variant is available in Matt Magnetic Silver and Candy Blazing Red. The disc variant is available in colours Metallic Nexus Blue, Black Teal Blue, and Black Pearl Red. The colors look trendy and are appealing to young riders looking for a trendy bike. The blacked-out exhaust with a chrome cover adds a touch of class. Overall, the bike has a modern and trendy design.
Strong and Smooth Engine
The Glamour X 125 is equipped with a high-quality 124.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which is from Hero Xtreme125R.
It produces 11.4 Horsepower at 8250RPM and 10.5 N · m of torque at 6500RPM. And it’s paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is fitted with a counter-balancer shaft that helps reduce vibrations. Making it comfortable with a smooth ride.
Hero has also tuned the engine for performance and has the most tuned cam profile and gear ratios for quick throttle responsiveness. You get a bass-rich exhaust note as well, which helps it feel like a big bike. The i3s idle start-stop system developed by Hero also helps; it shuts down the engine when in idle and restarts when you pull the clutch, which saves fuel! Considering the certified mileage of the Glamour X 125 is around 65kmpl, which could be advantageous for daily commuting.
Segment-First Features
The Hero Glamour X 125 has many segment-first features. It is the first 125cc motorcycle in India to have cruise control. This feature is seldom found in most commuter bikes, even in higher cc segments. Riders have the option to set the speed, and then it can be toggled using the toggle switch on the right handlebar. For highway and long journeys, cruise control is an excellent feature. It further enhances the rider’s comfort and reduces fatigue. Like the other ride modes, this feature is only available in the disc variant.
Another rider-assist feature is a ride-by-wire throttle. The electronic throttle system uses an electronic signal that is transmitted to and from the engine separate from an existing throttle cable. This allows for precise control of the engine. The ride-by-wire throttle offers three different ride modes – Eco, Road, and Power. Eco mode is perfect for voyage and commuter scenarios where the rider is fuel-conscious. Road mode is a balanced approach to performance and impulse. Power mode delivers maximum torque/thrust to the engine. Each mode allows a rider to adjust and respond to varying road conditions, such as in traffic, inclement weather, or city riding.
The last feature is the 5-inch color LCD instrument cluster. The instrument cluster is segment-first, but masculinely entails a sense of premium value. Hero borrowed the look from their sportier series of motorcycles, like the Karizma XMR. The cluster offers Bluetooth connectivity, which enables riders to receive calls and SMS alerts on their screen. The cluster also shows riders turn-by-turn navigation, real-time mileage indicator, distance to empty (DTE), and gear indicator. The display brightness is also adaptive based on light conditions.
Hero Glamour X 125: Comfort and Handling
Hero Glamour X 125 has put a lot of emphasis on comfort for the rider and pillion, as well as handling. The Glamour X 125 has a relatively wide handlebar that allows for a relaxed riding position. The seat isn’t just spacious; it’s cushioned enough to handle longer rides. Further, the pillion seat is spacious, and there’s a premium-quality grab rail to keep the pillion secure and safe. The ground clearance is a generous 170 mm, which allows it to handle rougher roads comfortably.
The Glamour X 125 is built from a diamond frame, which features a 30 mm telescopic front fork, and twin shocks at the rear with plenty of preload adjustability to accommodate different comfort levels. It has 18-inch alloy, tubeless wheels that are highly reliable and versatile. The front tire is a bit tighter at an 80 section, while the rear is used more liberally at a width of 100 section. The disc variant of the Glamour X 125 is a great design; the model weighs less than 140 kg, including the rider and a pillion. The design has a fork mount disc brake providing better stopping power than drums from the perspective of usable space. The drum and disc models both feature combined braking systems (CBS) for enhanced rider safety.
One of a Kind feature- Kick start
The Glamour X 125 is equipped with one feature not present on any electric start bike – a low battery kick start. Most modern motorcycles have either a foot kick or electric start – for the bikes to be equipped with both is rare. However, Hero decided to include a kick-starter to offer reassurance for the riders. The kick-start is rather handy when riding has led to a depleted battery. The kick-start actuator works alongside Hero’s AERA Tech platform by using a smart solenoid valve. This makes the bike usable and convenient for different situations.
Variants & Pricing
Hero Glamour X 125 comes in two variants: Drum and Disc. The drum variant is priced @ Rs 89,999, while the disc variant is priced @Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the drum variant misses features such as cruise control, riding modes, and full LED lights. The drum variant gets the color LCD console and Bluetooth features. The disc variant is more premium, however will come with everything. Bookings are open at Hero’s dealerships and online for the Nation, with the deliveries expected to start soon.
